3 Star Award Sea
This course ensures you get a flying start in your new sport by providing the building blocks to become an explorer sea paddler. The aim is to provide you with the tools to be able to be a competent performer in sheltered sea environments and have the ability to paddle as a valuable member of a lead group. At the end of the course you will receive a personalized action plan, designed to guide you towards a successful assessment.

Personal Paddling Skills
- Efficient forward paddling.
- Fundament control of the kayak.
- Supporting and rolling the kayak.

- Deep-water rescues.

- Group Awareness.
- Becoming a valuable member as part of a led group.
At the end of your training we suggest a development phase. This provides time to consolidate your new skills. We will provide advice and help you to construct an action plan to continue your development and measure your achievements.
What experience do I need to go for my training?
Ideally you should be able to swim and have a reasonable amount of confidence in water; we would advise having your 2 Star Award or equivalent level of ability to get the best out of this course.

After my training what does the assessment involve?
To move on to your assessment you will need to fulfil the following:
- Provide evidence of at least 3 different journeys on the sea, of about 3 hours duration (8nm) each.
- Provide evidence of at least 1 session of about 3 hours duration, in an alternative discipline.
