Improvers

If you can roll but things are not reliable then why not drop in on one of our rolling improvers courses. Here we will check your roll out and identify areas you need to work on to make this skill 100%. This one is all about understanding where you are and where to go next. We have two courses on offer to people after there first roll, Improvers and Improvers – Deep Knowledge.

What does the course offer me?

Your coach will work with you to analyse your roll and your goals in the sport. From here we can then progress to understand the best way forwards for you. Improver’s course content includes:-

  • Orientation Exercises
  • Rapid Setup
  • Full Tuck and Roll
  • Secondary Recovery
  • Front or Back Deck Techniques
  • Further development Exercises

The Deep Knowledge course is a two-unit (both taken on the same day) program with unit one taking place in the classroom and unit two taking place in a pool. Deep Knowledge covers:-

  • Dry land drills
  • Mental rehearsal
  • Development planning
  • Observation and analysis
  • Video analysis on technique

After these courses you will understand the key concepts required to develop your roll. You will have the information to put together an action plan to ensure continued development for your roll.

What level of ability do I need to be?

In order to get the best out of these courses you need to have established the fundamental skills needed to perform a flat water roll. If you have no or little rolling experience, you should check out our First Time courses.
